One may wonder how I got this nickname. Well Cobol is an abbreviation of COmmon Business Oriented Language, a programming language. During my study in Nanyang University in Singapore, it was one of the computer subjects that I opted. Honestly I didn't fare well in this subject and was puzzled being called Cobol and was mistakenly by many that I was an expert in this language.
Now many years have gone, the university I studied was closed down in 1980 and COBOL no longer a popular programming language too. However, I am still fondly remembered by many of my varsity mates as Cobol.
Cobol has many dreams, the most recent one is to backpack in Philippines. Then I dream of moving around from one country to another country.
I am now 62, manage to keep the marriage for 27 years. I have three well grown kids, so far they don't give their daddy many problems. My wife and I are proud to be their parents.
Cobol is still searching for an answer as to who I am and why I am here. No significant achievement in both material and spiritual planes. I just took meditation seriously knowing that it is time to go back to basics.
“COBOL" 是电脑语言。你可能以为我是这语言的高手，所以我的外号叫”COBOL" 。非也！我在大学选修这门课目时，勉强及格罢了。我本身也很惊讶同学都叫我“COBOL"。
如今好多年已过去，我所读的大学也被关掉！而“COBOL"也不再是热门的电脑语言。然而许多老同学仍然记得我的外号。
COBOL 有许多梦想。最想去东欧背包旅行。
今年我已步入耳顺之年。我的婚姻还能保住下去。我们有三个不大需要操心的孩子。
